AUSTIN, Texas — “Dog’s Day Out,” a new series about finding rescue dogs their forever homes, is partnering with iHeartDogs, a media and product company that gives back to shelters.
From creator Rocky Kanaka, “Dog’s Day Out” follows Rocky on his mission to find a down-on-their-luck rescue dog a forever home. Through that process, he treats his new dog friend to their ‘best day ever’. The show offers an exciting element of community involvement as it engages the viewer to help Rocky on his mission.
Each year, about 7 million pets enter shelters across North America and 3 million healthy, adoptable pets are euthanized. By bringing together the inspiring stories of dogs, with brands that believe in our mission, “Dog’s Day Out” is able to reach an audience in the millions every episode, Rocky said.
“When sponsors iHeartDogs and Michelson Found Animals joined forces with me I knew their rescue pet loving community would magnify ‘Dog’s Day Out’ Together we will be able to educate on the importance of things like adopting, fostering and microchipping through heartfelt storytelling,” Kanaka said.
Each partnership will be unique and flexible in order to best tailor the sponsor’s message for the potential audience of over 1 million dog owners and enthusiasts, Kanaka said. And the unique interactive format of the show allows Kanaka to weave in sponsor messaging in fresh and inventive ways.
“Our company is always looking for new ways to raise awareness about pet homelessness and Dog’s Day Out does exactly that,” said Marshall Morris COO of iHeartDogs. “It’s the perfect way to showcase how special rescue dogs can be, regardless of their history and it’s exactly the sort of stories our millions of Facebook Followers are engaging with.”
“We have one simple goal,” Kanaka added. “That’s to bring as much attention to these shelter dogs as we can in hopes of finding their forever homes. I am really excited to be here at SXSW as we are on the hunt for additional brands that want to be a part of ‘Dog’s Day Out.'”
